Clinical Breast Examination

CBE is a Physical exam done by a health provider or doctors to check the lumps or other changes in women’s breasts.A CBE exam are needs to  be performed  by a speacliase  or traind health care provider. The NCCN recommends women to start the screening test from some major health organization at the age of 25 and over.

Importance :

Clinical Breast Exams are an important part of early detection of abnormality.Most of the lumbs are detected through breast self exams or through experienced professional .During the clinical breast exam the health care provider checks the appearance of breast.A person may ask to raise her arm over the head or may press her hands against the  hips.

CBE method:

Different approaches allows the health care provider to look for the size of shape between breasts.The health care provider can check up for a ny rash , dimpling and abnormal signs . Nipples can also be examined either the fluid is expressed when lightly squeezed.

A suspicious lump is normally the size of pea before anyone can feel it in the breast tissue. The manual exam is done on one side and then on other. The healthcare provider will also check the lymph nodes near the breast to see if they are enlarged.
